About

BigWorldSmallPlanet shares in the responsibilities that come from contributing to the emerging tourism industry in Central America.  We remain sensitive to maintaining a low-impact approach to the environment and a steadfast respect for the local communities which we choose to visit.  We continually exchange ideas to determine how we can best contribute our time, our knowledge and our finances for the purpose of responsible tourism. BigWorldSmallPlanet as a company, remains committed to the guidelines below:

Minimize negative environmental, social and cultural impacts.

Avoid any disturbance of wildlife through educating guests on local wildlife considerations as well as support for wildlife conservation programs and projects.  Where applicable, ensure that clients are aware of any protected or threatened species.

Generate greater economic benefits for local people and enhance the well-being of host communities.

Involve local people in decisions that affect their lives and life’s opportunities.  Encourage self-empowerment and knowledge.

Provide optimum enjoyment for travelers through meaningful connections with local people and a greater understanding of local culture and environmental issues.

Maintain a cultural sensitivity and unwavering respect between tourists and hosts.

Encourage feedback from all guests and associates to continue to strive to offer the best service possible by being open to adaptability.

Realize that Nicaragua, specifically, at present, is still an underdeveloped country.  We don’t make excuses ~ We make contributions.

The safety and comfort of our guests shall always, always be our primary concern.
